The majority of today’s salt water ice makers for fishing industry are more versatile than ever and are constructed with materials that resist rust, such as stainless steel. Smaller units may be installed either inside the fish hold or on deck, with the compressor and condensing unit located in the engine room. Some larger salt water ice machines are a self-containing unit that’s installed on board while others may be installed as a remote unit and driven electrically.
